The road to Jackson, Wyoming

First, I added 3 videos to the Steamboat post, 2 of Kelley in the new snow and an interview with Ursula a Steamboat local and friend of ours.

Another warm day, 39 degrees and cloudy at 6,800 feet above sea level ASL. Started at 9:30am which ended up being 386 miles.  As the day went on it got sunnier.  It was interesting how the scenery progressed.  The first couple of hours the terrain was covered with deep snow and we saw many ranches with cattle.  As we got to the higher plateau, it become more desolate and there was a lot of deer and elk roadkill and less snow. When we entered Wyoming there was little snow and mostly oil wells.  We saw hundreds of antelope. We had lunch about half way in Rock Springs WY.  We saw some llamas and a moose.  The next portion was flat and desolate.  The last 75 miles was beautiful as we drove through the Teton mountains, some of the most majestic we have seen.  Very deep snow and we passed along the beautiful Hoback river and later the Snake River.   Total drive was about 6 hours, You can go pretty fast in the middle of nowhere.  Checked in at the Rusty Parrot Lodge in downtown Jackson.
